Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GoKalpa app and website. By creating an account or using GoKalpa you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use GoKalpa.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
• You must register with a valid Indian mobile number and provide accurate account information.
• GoKalpa is currently intended for users located in India.

2. GoKalpa is a connecting platform, not a party to any sale

GoKalpa helps farmers find each other. We are not a party to any transaction — we do not own, inspect, certify, insure or transport animals, and we do not process payments. All negotiation, physical inspection, health verification, payment and handover happen directly between buyer and seller, at their own responsibility. We strongly recommend inspecting the animal in person and completing payment only at handover.

3. Permitted purpose — dairy and agriculture only

• Animals may be listed, bought and sold on GoKalpa only for dairy (milking), agricultural and breeding purposes. Every seller must confirm this declaration before publishing a listing.
• Listing, buying, selling or enquiring about any animal for meat, slaughter or killing is strictly prohibited on GoKalpa. We remove such listings, permanently ban the accounts involved, and may report them to the authorities.
• You must comply with all laws that apply to your transaction, including the cattle preservation and anti-slaughter laws of your state (for example, the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020), the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and the Transport of Animals Rules, 1978. Several Indian states require permits for cattle transport — arranging lawful transport is the responsibility of the buyer and seller.
• Animals must be transported humanely, with adequate space, water and rest, as required by animal-welfare law.

4. Listings

• You may only list animals that you own or are legally authorised to sell.
• Photos, videos and details (breed, age, milk yield, pregnancy status, price, location) must be genuine, current and belong to the actual animal being sold.
• Misleading listings, duplicate posts, stock photos, and listings for anything other than cattle for the permitted purposes may be removed without notice.
• Mark your animal as sold once the sale completes, so other farmers are not misled.

5. Chat, contact sharing and conduct

• Use chat only to discuss listings. Harassment, abuse, spam, fraud or unlawful content is prohibited.
• Your phone number is shared with a buyer only when you approve their contact request in chat.
• Stay safe from scams: never pay an advance to someone you have not met, never share OTPs, verify the animal in person before paying, and prefer meeting at the seller's location. GoKalpa shows in-app safety warnings but cannot verify individual users.

6. Content licence

You retain ownership of the photos, videos and text you post. By posting, you grant GoKalpa a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and share that content within the app and in listing links, solely to operate and promote the platform.

7. Prohibited use

• Any activity connected to the sale of animals for meat, slaughter or killing.
• Breaking any applicable law, including cattle preservation and animal-welfare laws.
• Impersonation, false information, or use of another person's account or phone number.
• Fraud of any kind, including fake listings, advance-payment scams and price manipulation.
• Scraping, harvesting user data, reverse engineering, or interfering with the platform's operation.
• Posting content that is unlawful, hateful, obscene or infringes others' rights.

8. Suspension and termination

We may remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or the law — with immediate effect and without notice for serious violations such as slaughter-related activity or fraud. You may stop using GoKalpa and request account deletion at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

9. Disclaimers

• GoKalpa is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of listings, the health, quality, milk yield or pregnancy status of animals, or the conduct, identity or solvency of users.
• Any decision to buy or sell is yours alone, ideally made after physical inspection and, where appropriate, a veterinarian's opinion.

10. Limitation of liability and indemnity

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoKalpa and its operators are not liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or dispute arising from transactions between users — including financial loss, animal health issues, transport incidents, or legal violations by users.
• You agree to indemnify and hold GoKalpa harmless from claims, penalties or losses arising out of your listings, your transactions, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

11. Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, internet or power outages, cyber-attacks, or acts of government.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Karnataka, India.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of GoKalpa after an update means you accept the revised Terms. The effective date above shows the latest revision.
